Power is out to hundreds of Horizon Power customers in Esperance and it's unable to be restored until after the district's bush fires are under control.

Horizon Power estimated that 300 customers were left without power but it was difficult to tell as communications were down and  crews  were unable  to survey lines until an all clear is given.

Power cannot be restored this evening and may be back on tomorrow.

Regional Manager Layton Baker said the network had been disconnected ahead of the fire line.

"Crews will begin restoring power tomorrow once the fire is under control," he said.

The Scaddan, Grass Patch, Red Lake and Salmon Gums are at risk and fires are also burning in the Hopetoun area which has impacted power supplies to about  40 customers.
