Electrical fault starts truck fire

ESPERANCE Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service was called to Lot 12 Effie Turner Drive in Chadwick at 7.49pm on Monday night.

Esperance Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service captain Mick Rose said a fire had broken out in the cab section of a truck.

Mr Rose said there was no threat to any other buildings or to people.

Volunteers wore breathing apparatus equipment when attending to the fire.

It took 45 minutes to contain the fire.

Mr Rose said that the cause of the fire was believed to be due to an electrical fault.

The owner was present at the incident.

Police were called but Mr Rose said the cause of fire was not suspicious.
