Dog attacks continue

SHIRE of Esperance Ranger Services continue to report instances of dog attacks around town, with thirteen infringement notices issued by ranger services to dog owners for various reasons in the month of April.

According to the Shire of Esperance's May ordinary council meeting information bulletin, dog attacks remain ongoing throughout the shire.

"Ranger services are dealing with these expediently by infringing in the first instance and then declarations for dangerous dogs if there is a repeat attack or incident," the report said.

"Ranger services staff are constantly liaising with people walking their dogs and providing ongoing education."

Among the infringements issued in the month of April, eight were for dogs causing nuisance.

Two were issued for a dog in a place without consent, two for dogs not being held on leads, and one for a dog being unregistered.
