ESPERANCE residents have raised a combined total of over $3000 for the Cancer Council by hosting two Girls’ Night In events.
Girls’ Night In is a fundraiser for Australia's national
non-government cancer control organisation.
On October 26, Liv Gaunt hosted a Girls Night In that 12
women attended.
Ms Gaunt said she was motivated to support the Cancer
Council after nursing her father through the final weeks of his battle with
melanoma.
"With
the help of my friends who attended my Girls Night In, online donations from
people who were unable to attend and from friends in Europe, I raised just
over $500, which I am pleased with."
On November
3, Jenny Vermey hosted a Girls’ Night In, which raised $2565.
Ms Vermey
said she took the opportunity to raise some funds for the Cancer Council after
her friend was recently diagnosed with cancer and another friend was going
through treatment.
