Esperance Scout Group held a Remembrance Day service on Wednesday at the War Memorial Park.
More than 40 scouts turned out to the annual service, held for Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.
Scout Group leader Carmel Halls said it was an opportunity for the children to be in uniform and respectfully remember those who gave up their lives.
“It’s important for the children to realise we need to seek peace in our own lives, as well as world peace, so that conflict is not our first choice,” she said.
“The young scouts know and understand the traditional Remembrance Day stories, they have that contextual understanding.
“In their own little way, they understand that people gave up their lives so that we can live in a free country.”
