Community groups receive $6,500 in funding

Community groups and landcare have received 13 small grants, totally $6,500, in the latest round of the Regional Landcare Facilitator Community Small Grants.

The grants, part of South Coast Natural Resource Management’s support of community groups, encourage schools to get involved in sustainable agriculture, by providing funding to run projects beneficial to the community and environment.

South Coast Natural Resource Management’s chief executive officer Justin Bellanger said many quality applications were received from across the region.

“It shows that our community is passionate about the environment and willing to do their part to help protect it,” he said.
