Esperance Cancer Fundraising Committee held a Father’s Day cake stall and raffle at Super IGA on September 1.

The group raised $1,166 for the cause.

The committee thanked everyone who donated to the cause.

Winners of the raffle were:

First prize – D Lapward.

Second prize – L Bayley.

The funds raised will be sent to the Cancer Council of Western Australia and distributed to the Crawford Lodge in Nedlands, as well as the Milroy Lodge in Shenton Park.

When cancer patients from regional or rural WA need to go to Perth for treatment they are able to stay at one of the lodges and are looked after by professional volunteers.

Esperance Cancer Fundraising Committee hold their meetings every second Tuesday of the month at the Masonic Village Hall, corner of Windich and Brozier Street.

The meetings start at 1:30pm.

All interested people are welcome to come along, as new members are always welcome.

Cancer Council Fundraising Committee members are looking forward to organising their next fundraiser, which will be a fashion parade in November.
