Furies into Esperance Hockey Association grand final

Mallee took on Furies in their hockey contest on the weekend.

In a see-sawing game Mallee managed to force a short corner which results in the first goal. By half time Furies had majority of the possession and multiple short corners but they could not score.

Early in the second half Furies managed an equaliser with Kayla Tonkin finishing off a beautiful piece of play.

Defence was hard fought and the game began to get frenetic in and around the goals. With stress levels rising, cards were being set out, but at the end of time it was a draw 1-all.

The game went into golden goal, but there was still no result so it continued into one-on-one. Jacqui Tonkin scored first, followed by Sarah Harp as Mallee tried to keep Furies out of the game.

Again it went to golden goal with Mallee missing first, but Furies Jacqui Tonkin scored to help her side into the grand final.
