Horizon Power Sports Star of the Year awards seek nominations

Great news for the annual Horizon Power Sports Star of the Year awards which are due to be held on Saturday, November 11.

Because, not only do we have Horizon Power, Telstra, Shire of Esperance, Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries back on board as our main sponsors.

But we have just received confirmation that Regional Express (REX) have offered a return flight (Esperance/Perth) as one of the many auction items and local businesses Sports Power, Dempster Sporting, Innertube and Saltwater Catering are more than happy to continue to support the awards.

In addition the committee can confirm that Shanan Worall the winner of the World Surfing Leagues Big Wave ‘Tube of the Year 2017’ will be our Guest Speaker on the night.

You will see some fantastic footage of Shanan’s feats on the new Civic Centre projector and screen.

The committee may also have another inductee into the ‘’Esperance Sporting Hall of Fame’’ which would be very exciting.

So now it is up to your Clubs or Associations to get involved to make the evening a true ‘’Celebration of Sport’’ within our community.

Clubs are reminded that nominations for the Horizon Power Sports Star of the Year 2017 close on Thursday, October 5 at 5pm.

Once again this year to make the nomination process a little easier, the Sports Star committee will allow nominations from not only Clubs but any member of the community.

So as a parent, coach, teammate or friend you can nominate someone within our community.
