Southern Ports- Port of Esperance confirm redundancies

Southern Ports have confirmed 28 Port of Esperance workers have been offered redundancies, with staff having until Friday, September 1 to accept.

The voluntary redundancy packages were issued to staff who lodged an expression of interest when thew process opened last month.

The offers were made following agreement with the Maritime Union of Australia as a result of a dispute resolution process in the Fair Work Commission.

Staff who have received the offers will have until next Friday to accept, and the timeframe to exit the business will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
