O'Connor electors fined for failing to vote in election

Four residents in the O’Connor electorate were fine $100 and ordered to pay court costs of $117.50 for not voting in the 2016 federal election. 

Steven John Roost, Arthur Robert Cummings, Michelle Cherie Tate and Adrian Paul Wright were charged after they failed to cast their ballot during the July 2 election. 

All four voters failed to respond to multiple notices regarding the infringement or pay the penalty fee of $20.

None of the voters appeared in the Esperance Magistrate Court when their charges were dealt with.
