Esperance football lovers will be able to enjoy a WA Football League game in their hometown on July 15.
Subiaco will face Claremont at Ports Oval with a women’s match after the main event.
As a curtain raiser the Esperance under 12s Towns will be up against the Esperance under 12s Country at 11am.
There will be local talent who now play for Subiaco featuring in the match.
These players include Clancy Wheeler from Newtown- Condingup, Ryan Vermeersch from Gibson, Hayden Kennedy and Kyal Horsley from Kalgoorlie and Liam Baker from Lake Grace.
Wheeler debuted for Subiaco in 2011 and has been a regular feature in the side since.
He has also represented WA twice, his debut being in 2013 when WA played Victoria.
Described as one of the “most versatile players in the league” Wheeler has played in three grand finals for Subiaco and was runner- up in the 2016 Outridge Medal for the club’s fairest and best.
Wheeler also notched up his 200th game in round three last year.
Vermeersch was drafted to the Subiaco colts side in 2012 and was part of the Colts Team of the Year in 2014.
In 2015 Vermeersch notched up a few games for the reserves side and became a regular in the side in 2016.
Last has also been a highlight for the forward who kicked 27 goals from 17 games.
Another up and comer who is set to play his first league match but the end of the year is Brayden Ainsworth who originated from Ports.
Ainsworth has already made himself known after playing for the colts side last year. He has also played a couple of reserve matches this year.
