Former Esperance Port employee faces string of stealing charges

A woman has been charged with 183 counts of stealing from the Port of Esperance, after allegedly taking more than $180,000.

Police allege the 36-year-old Castletown woman transferred the money to various bank accounts of family members when she was employed at the port.

Esperance Detectives allege the money was stolen between October 2013 and January 2017.

The woman will appear before the Esperance Magistrates Court on April 4.

Southern Port Authority declined to comment on the matter.
