Esperance youths scout for positive impacts

Esperance Scout Group have launched into 2017 with an exciting calendar of events including a new program called Messagers of Peace.

Scouts of all ages have been busy creating gifts for less advantaged children overseas and next term, will cook and deliver food for needy people in the Esperance region.

Messagers for Peace is an initiative established in 2001, and engages with 40 million scouts world wide.

Participating in creative and innovative social entrepreneur activities that have a relevant impact on local environments is the main purpose of the program.

For the past three Monday’s scouts have joined forces at the local hall to make and decorate small cars, create stuffed toys and sew marble bags and dilly bags to put into boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

To receive a badge through the program scouts will need to log 18 hours, cubs 15 hours and joeys 10 hours.
