Volleyball action hits Esperance

Western Australian Beach volleyball players ranging from the elite to the social level will converge on Esperance for a state competition.

The Alcohol Think Again WA Beach Volleyball Tour (ATABT) will run on the long weekend from Saturday March 4 to Sunday March 5 at West Beach.

Esperance Volleyball Association (EVA) president Nick Wells said it was a highly competitive tournament and we encouraged locals to watch the action.

“We have interest from some overseas teams and there will be some of the top WA teams competing,” he said. “We expect 100 plus competitors to participate, including current number one WA team Jayson Fox/Mark Van Winsen and previous winner Sam Kingston.”

Mr Wells said other competitors included current top WA players Beth Morris, Melissa Kennedy and Tessa Anderson, who have all had top three finishes on the WA tour this season.

This is the third year in a row we’ve hosted this tournament, and every year gets better than the last.
