BRYDAN Klein has progressed through to the second round at the Cliffs Esperance International scoring a straight sets win over Jarryd Maher (Vic) on Wednesday.
Klein, who reached a career high world ranking of 174 in June this year, was too strong for Maher, ranked 878, winning 6-4 6-1.
Fellow West Australian Matthew Ebden scored a confident first round win, defeating Joshua Crowe (SA), 6-2 6-1.
In the women’s draw Olivia Rogowska (Vic) was too strong for Isabella Holland (Qld) 4-6 6-2 6-1.
Holland started well but was unable to hold off Rogowska as she dominated the second and third sets dropping only three games and taking the win with a break of serve.
The Australian Pro Tour, presented by Cool Ridge, is a series of 24 ATP/ WTA world ranking points events held nationally and includes top Australian tennis players, competing against a host of international players.
