Grabowski stayed ahead

30 Oct, 2009 04:00 AM
THE Esperance Triathlon Club held its last Aquathon for October at the Leisure Centre on Sunday.

With the two distances on offer again, Jack Grabowski had an easy lead out of the water for the long course but managed to stay ahead of Janet Tyrrell on the run, who was hot on his heels, for first and second place. Paul Topping and Kate Maliphant came in to round off the first four.

A smaller group took part in the short course this week with Lisa Rose and Brodie Bratten coming in first and second with Carmen Davey and Richard Brown close behind. Congratulations to the three younger girls who took part this week - young triathletes in the making! Again, it’s great to see everyone turning up, from old members making a return and the new faces from the beginners’ course.

This Sunday there will be a Duathlon at Twilight Beach which will consist of a two km run, 7.5 km bike ride then another two km run. Please be there early, ready to start at 8am.
