Big turnout for duathlon

06 Nov, 2009 01:00 AM
THE first duathlon at Twilight Beach attracted a large turnout despite the weather report.

The first leg, a 2km run, was made to look easy by Brian Sylva who took out an early lead. The bike leg belonged to Frank Matthews, but Brian reclaimed the lead to come first in the second run with Frank not far behind. Wobbly legs were hard to move after the bike transition, going from the windy return ride to running another 2kms. Congratulations to everyone in the event.

We've swum and ran, then ran, rode and ran, now it's time to put it all together in the first triathlon for the season. There is a long and a short course on offer, so please be at Twilight early for an 8am start.

Also another reminder to get your team entered in the Corporate Triathlon on the 29th November.
