Man dies in Condingup crash

20 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
SPEED, alcohol and the lack of wearing a seatbelt were all factors in the fatal motor vehicle accident near Condingup early Tuesday morning, Esperance Police said.

A 20-year-old male had been drinking at the Condingup Tavern on Monday evening and was travelling home on Fisheries Road at about 1am when he lost control of his Ford Falcon.

The car left the road not far from Condingup and rolled, killing the sole occupant of the vehicle.

“Our thoughts and hearts are with the victim’s family and loved ones,” Esperance Police Senior Sergeant Paul Humphries said.

“But it’s a timely reminder to obey the road rules.

“We do not apologise for a zero tolerance approach to driving behaviour this Christmas season.”

Police investigations are continuing.
