FOR most people walking is considered a chore, but for 21-year-old Esperance local Jarrad Casey, walking has taken on a whole different approach as he prepares for the trek from Perth to Esperance.
Mr Casey will be taking the walk in his stride tomorrow as he moves to raise funds for the Cancer Council, with an aim to raise $1000 from his efforts.
"I was never planning on doing this walk," Mr Casey admitted. "But doing this for a good cause is definitely worth it."
Having moved to Perth only a few weeks ago, Mr Casey said he was looking forward to the adventure ahead.
Despite having no previous long-distance walking experience behind him, he seems confident that the journey will be relatively painless.
"I've packed enough to survive for at least a week at this stage, complete with my tent, sleeping bag, food and clothes," he said.
